They excel in developing programs that meet community needs, working closely with staff, contracted instructors, and service providers to deliver innovative and high-quality offerings. Highly analytical, they use data tracking and performance measures to ensure efficient service delivery, inform program improvements, and support sound decision-making. Technologically proficient, they play an integral role in managing recreation software systems for registration and facility operations. The Community & Library Services Department carries out this mission by providing a full spectrum of year-round and seasonal recreational, cultural, human, and library services programs.
The Senior Community and Library Services Supervisor provides leadership and direction for recreational operations in the Program Services Division. Supervises, coordinates and oversees the program development, operations, staff, and marketing.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position is qualifying. A typical combination includes : Education : A bachelor's degree in public administration, organizational leadership, recreation and leisure services, human or social services, or a related field. Experience : Five (5) years of experience in community center management, public relations, recreation, events, or related experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience. Licenses / Certifications : Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required at the time of appointment and throughout employment. Special Conditions : Employees who may drive a city or personal vehicle in the course and scope of work shall be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program. Public Employee Disaster Service Worker : In accordance with Government Code Section 3100, all Huntington Beach city employees are required to perform assigned disaster service worker duties in the event of an emergency or a disaster.
