Job Title : Quality Inspector Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that parts meet the necessary quality standards before they proceed to inventory. You will be responsible for inspecting parts, verifying certifications, and measuring dimensions to ensure compliance with blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Receive and conduct inspections on parts.
• Identify if lot numbers have been previously inspected and facilitate the movement of parts with minimal paperwork.
• Review drawings and inspection check sheets to verify necessary certifications and ensure process compliance with blueprints.
• Measure parts using calipers, rules, micrometers, and radius gauges to ensure quality before inventory placement.
• Ensure dimensions and certifications meet blueprint requirements.
• Handle non-conformances and process necessary documents through Oracle.
• Inspect work-in-process parts to ensure compliance with print and work order instructions.
• Calibrate gauges and test equipment as required by calibration schedules.

Work Environment

The Quality Inspector will report to the Quality Manager as part of a team that includes 4 Quality Technicians and 1 Quality Engineer. The work involves rotating between Work In Process inspections and Receiving inspections on a monthly basis, with potential floating assignments. The role typically involves a 4-day workweek of 10-hour shifts, either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, with the possibility of voluntary overtime. The team currently averages 40-45 hours per week, with shorter days if working an extra day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.
