Position Description
The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at the Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) in St Louis invites applications from excellent , and / or candidates for assistant / associate / full professor faculty position which could be research / tenure track or tenured position depend on the candidate experience and track record. Based on candidate experience, incentive start-up package will be offered.
We expect that the applicants will have a strong track record of publications and success in external funding. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a multi-disciplinary, rigorous team by collaborating with other investigators and supporting extramurally funded research projects / programs. The candidate is expected to have an advanced degree in biomedical engineering, mathematics, physics or a discipline relevant to PET quantitative imaging analytics with a minimum of 3 years of experience in academic institution or industry. The candidate is expected to have expertise in quantitative kinetic modeling using rigorous state-of-the-art approaches, such as those based on machine learning, including deep-learning-based methods, to analyze and interpret PET data for neurological, cardiovascular and oncologic applications. Experience with study design oriented to characterize selectivity, specific signal, tissue / plasma kinetics of novel PET tracers, experience is desired. The candidate is expected to have outstanding interpersonal skills necessary for working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional working environment and has an outstanding ability in mentoring students, postdoc and junior investigator, as well as leadership to build a rigorous team and collaborate with multiple PIs from different Centers within / out Washington University in Saint Louis.
The selected candidate will be a member of the Precision Radiotheranostics Translation Center (PRTC) which includes ~30 faculty members and plus students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and clinical fellows with total more than 125 employees. Our Center focuses on the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals for imaging and theranostics applications, and advances in detection systems for pre-clinical and clinical applications. Available to the Center are outstanding research facilities, equipment and resources to facilitate translating these new technologies into clinical practice.

It is expected that the applicants will have a strong track record of publications and success in external funding through grants and contracts. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a multi-disciplinary, rigorous, and extramurally funded research program interfacing with the MIR’s research Centers / Labs, translational imaging facilities and WUSM.
