Job Summary The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in enabling the Corporate FP&A team to drive company-wide financial oversight, accountability, and performance management that enhance Carhartt's overall financial health. The role combines strong foundational FP&A skills-budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis-with the strategic use of automation, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital reporting tools to elevate financial insight and discipline across the organization.

Associate Responsibilities - Partner with FP&A and Accounting to prepare and consolidate monthly management reporting packages for executive leadership, incorporating analysis of total company P&L performance vs. budget, prior year, and forecast. Use AI-enabled data automation and analytics tools to streamline data consolidation, accelerate reporting, and highlight key financial themes, risks, and opportunities to drive strategic decision-making.
- Support the Corporate FP&A team in creating a cohesive, standardized reporting environment that delivers clarity, consistency, and alignment across all business areas. Develop and maintain automated templates and dashboards to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
- Conduct quarterly competitive benchmarking of financial performance versus key industry peers, leveraging AI-driven data aggregation and analysis to identify emerging trends, performance gaps, and strategic opportunities. Summarize key insights and implications for executive leadership.
- Consolidate, review, and analyze departmental financial results versus budget and forecast on a monthly basis. Partner with cost center managers to interpret trends, discuss forecast drivers, and strengthen financial acumen. Leverage AI-assisted analysis and data automation tools to identify key variances, improve forecasting accuracy, and streamline the reporting process. Support annual planning, forecasting, and multi-year financial modeling efforts with enhanced data-driven insights.
- Champion the use of AI and intelligent automation within financial planning, budgeting, and scenario modeling to enhance forecast accuracy, accelerate insights, enable more data-driven decision making, streamline reporting, and drive process efficiencies.
Required Education - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Required Skills & Experience - 5 or more years of successful experience in quantitative role (i.e. Finance, Accounting)
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with the ability to link operational drivers to financial outcomes
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable business insights for senior leadership and to support planning efforts for business leaders through proactive strategic thinking
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of interpreting large datasets and presenting insights using tools like Power BI and Tableau
- Understanding of generative AI applications in financial modeling, scenario planning, and business communications.
- Hands-on familiarity with large language model tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and their integration within financial systems or productivity platforms
- High level of accuracy & attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions - Travel (5%)
