Description :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with various cancers.

Our unit specializes in administering treatments such as chemotherapy and assisting with clinical trials.

A heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls management is prioritized.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with cancer diagnoses.

Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Administer chemotherapy treatments and monitor patients for adverse reactions.

Participate in clinical trials and assist in data collection and documentation.

Perform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy and neobladder care.

Implement infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients.

Monitor telemetry readings and interpret dysrhythmias.

Respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and utilize rapid response teams as needed.

Perform feeding tube care and management, including IV therapy and blood product administration.

Utilize computerized charting systems to accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Qualifications :

Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Med Surg / Telemetry nursing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Proficiency in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing.

Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions.

Experience in oncology-specific procedures such as chemotherapy administration.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Work Schedule :

Staffing ratios aim for 1 : 4 but may be adjusted based on unit needs.

Weekends may vary based on unit requirements.

Self-scheduling requests are accommodated to meet both staff preferences and unit needs.
