We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual Engineer to join our team. The AV Engineer is responsible for leading the design, installation, and maintenance of audio-visual systems in various settings, including corporate, educational, or entertainment environments. This role requires a deep understanding of AV technology, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Project Management : Lead AV projects from conception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
- System Design : Collaborate with clients or internal teams to design AV systems that meet specific requirements. This includes selecting appropriate equipment for audio, video, and control systems.
- Installation : Oversee or directly participate in the installation of AV equipment, ensuring all components are correctly integrated and function as intended.
- Technical Support : Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for AV systems. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that may arise post-installation.
- Maintenance and Upgrades : Schedule and perform regular maintenance checks or system upgrades to keep AV systems in top working condition.
- Team Leadership : Mentor and train junior technicians, delegate tasks, and manage team performance to ensure high-quality work.
- Client Interaction : Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, explaining complex AV concepts in an understandable manner, and managing client expectations.
- Documentation : Ensure all projects are thoroughly documented, including schematics, configurations, and operational manuals.
- Compliance and Safety : Ensure all installations comply with local codes and regulations, maintaining safety standards throughout projects.
- Install, configure, and maintain audio-visual systems including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to audio-visual hardware and software.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist with installations and repairs.
- Perform cabling tasks for low voltage systems ensuring proper connections and safety standards.
- Utilize tools such as voltmeters for testing and diagnosing equipment functionality.
- Provide field service support for audio-visual setups at various locations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and installations performed.
Qualifications
CTS-D certification preferred.Strong understanding of computer hardware related to audio-visual systems.Minimum of 5 years in AV installation or related technical roles.Proficiency in audio-visual technologies, including but not limited to, sound systems, video systems, projection, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX).Mechanical knowledge to assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment as needed.Ability to telecommunicate effectively with clients for remote support when necessary.Previous experience in a field service role is preferred but not required.Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.Preferred certifications or manufacturer-specific certifications like Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Draper, Shure, or Q-SYS.Strong leadership and team management capabilities.Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.Join our team where your expertise will contribute to creating seamless audio-visual experiences for our clients!
