Swiss CNC Programmer-Day Shift

Summary

The role of the Swiss CNC Programmer is to develop a robust manufacturing process for new components and to continuously improve established processes. The Swiss CNC Programmer will use good manufacturing processes (GMP) to develop parts through the use of CAD, CAM, manual programming edits, tool selection and process verification techniques. CNC Swiss machining set up, blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge are important for success in this position.

Pay Range : $35-$40 / hour, depending upon experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets technical drawings and CAD models
• Uses a mixture of CAM Software and / or manual edits to program new and existing parts to optimize tool cutting path
• Develops and maintains detailed documentation for setup / inspection / manufacturing procedures for each newly developed components
• Provides technical input for manufacturing improvements on difficult to machine components
• Validates the NC code generated from the CNC program by monitoring initial production jobs for long-term efficiency and repeatability
• Aids in the design of fixtures / work holding for machining parts
• Collaborates with Engineering, set-up techs, and machinists on new product introduction / continuous improvement activities
• Troubleshoots and resolves programming and machining problems as they arise.
• Assists Engineering / Manufacturing / Quoting as needed

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, continuous mental and visual attention is needed. The ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk, and hear is frequently required. Lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary, and personal protective equipment is required.
