Position SummaryThe Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting functions with a strong focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across our property portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and verify accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the accounting system
Receive and review purchase orders, check requests, and supporting documentation for completeness and policy compliance
Reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements and match receipts to transactions
Assist with monthly close procedures and financial reports as needed
Support bank reconciliations, utility allowance processing, payable requests, and preparation of replacement reserve draws
Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies
Communicate with regional managers, property managers, and internal teams regarding accounting inquiries
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience preferred)
2+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience (property management experience preferred)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Property management or real estate accounting
Experience with utility allowances or reserve draws
Familiarity with month-end close processes
