    Position Overview

    \n\nPosition Requirements\n\n \n\t

  • PEL required\n\t
  • Building site, bell schedule, and case load will be determined during interview at the preference of the candidate\n

    • \n\nJob Duties / Responsibilities\n\nPrevention\n\n \n\t

  • Consultation\n\t
  • In service training\n\t
  • Speaking with parents and parent groups\n

    • \n\nIdentification\n\n \n\t

  • Pre-referral (student support teams)\n\t
  • Screenings\n\t
  • Referrals for the evaluation process\n

    • \n\nAssessment\n\n \n\t

  • Data collection through standardized or non-standardized measures\n\t
  • Interpretation\n\t
  • Report writing\n\t
  • Sharing results with parents and staff\n\t
  • Determining eligibility for services\n\t
  • Developing IEPs\n

    • \n\nIntervention\n\n \n\t

  • Caseload management (scheduling)\n\t
  • Direct remediation within the educational setting\n\t
  • Pull out services\n\t
  • Consulting on academic and social issues\n\t
  • Developing ongoing goals\n\t
  • Documenting progress\n\t
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers\n\t
  • Holding annual review meetings\n

    • \n\nAdministrative Responsibilities\n\n \n\t

  • Completing caseload records for special education funding\n\t
  • Maintaining student IEPs and evaluations on web-based computer program\n

    • \n\nWork Environment & Requirements\n\n \n\t

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting\n\t
  • Must work in noisy and crowded environments\n\t
  • Indoors or outdoors in a busy school environment\n\t
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions\n\t
  • May be required to leave main work site to attend meetings\n\t
  • Public contact requiring appropriate business-like apparel\n\t
  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL \n
