Exciting Opportunity in the Washington, DC area : Outpatient Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - COTA

We' re currently seeking a Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - COTA ($60, 000 - $68, 000) around 20 minutes from downtown Washington, DC . Qualifications :

  • Associate' s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • MD state license
  • Pediatric experience preferred

Position Details :

  • Schedule : Full-time

    • Multidisciplinary clinic with Speech, behavior therapy (RBT to assist with therapy)

  • Caseload includes a lot of low verbal or nonverbal kiddos, as well as children on the autism spectrum. Experience with or willingness to learn to use AAC devices is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker is a huge plus, but a translator is available for Spanish-speaking families

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the assessment of childrens' needs and abilities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Implement individualized therapy plans to improve childrens' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and coordination
  • Educate parents and caregivers on how to help their children with daily activities.
  • Develop strategies to help children with sensory processing issues.
