Elementary Computer Science Teacher for the 25 / 26 School Year

Ascent Academies of Utah, West Jordan campus, a charter school is now accepting applications for a full-time K-6 Elementary Computer Science Teacher for the upcoming school year. Ascent Academies of Utah (AAU) is a network of charter schools that provides its students with a rich and individualized academic program utilizing the successful Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM). AAU's network of schools combines SEM's research-based strategies with curriculum and instructional methods aligned to the Utah Core Curriculum in order to provide students throughout the network with engaging learning opportunities. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Elementary Computer Science Specialist to join our team of educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and computer science. The Specialist will be responsible for teaching Computer Science concepts to students in grades K-6 at our West Jordan campus. Responsibilities :

• Develop and deliver engaging and interactive Computer Science lessons to elementary school students. Software options will be provided to assist in teaching the Computer Science curriculum.
• Teach students basic programming concepts, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Lead a Computer Science based SEM cluster twice a year.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate computer science concepts into other subject areas.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning experience.
• Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in Computer Science Education.
• Collaborate with Network staff to provide Tier I technology support.
• Provide support with Ascent's top five programs. Aspire, Clever, GoGuardian, Canvas, and Mastery Connect. Requirements :
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, education, or a related field
• Experience teaching Computer Science to elementary school students
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
