UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.Responsibilities
Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his / her illness or injury.Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.Delivers care consistent with the physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.Qualifications
Job Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in nursing (ADN)Must maintain current Texas RN LicenseBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientationThe Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is required before the end of orientationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientationNIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientationPreferred Job Requirements :
One year of emergency nursing experience.
