Christian Heritage School is a thriving academically and spiritually rigorous Christian day school located in Southern Connecticut. With over 400 students, it is one of the largest K-12 Christian schools in the Northeast and draws students from numerous towns across the state. It has a diverse student body that comes together to grow in knowledge, faith, and character within a loving, grace-filled environment.

Human Resources Manager (Part-time, 25 hours weekly)

Christian Heritage School is seeking a qualified Human Resources Manager to oversee and administer all core human resources functions within a mission-driven educational environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance and working collaboratively with the Head of School and senior leadership, this role is responsible for recruitment and staffing, benefits administration, payroll coordination, employee relations, policy development, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations.

The Human Resources Manager serves as a key resource to leadership, ensuring consistent application of policies, accurate HR records, and adherence to employment laws while supporting a professional, respectful, and Christ-centered workplace culture aligned with the school’s mission and values.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration or a related field
  • 3-4 years of experience in human resources department
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR leadership or senior HR generalist position
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of HR practices & procedures and knowledge of State & Federal HR laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, providing exceptional service and appropriate confidentiality.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively verbally and in writing to prepare official correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling.
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities with minimal supervision, completing assignments proficiently and meeting deadlines timely with a high level of organization.
  • Software proficiency in spreadsheets for benefits administration/calculations, MS Office/Google Suite & ADP applications.
