Job specification

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to surgical patients in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, incisions, and pain levels
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care as needed
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to coordinate optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on surgical recovery, discharge plans, and follow-up care
• Maintain thorough documentation using the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards
• Adapt quickly to new environments and effectively manage time and patient loads

Candidate requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma license or compact license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in surgical specialty, post-op, PACU, or med-surg/surgical units
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent adaptability and communication - ideal for travel contracts
