American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for day shifts requiring 3 years of experience and a California RRT license.

Job Details

  • Work in a Respiratory Therapy unit of a progressive healthcare environment,
  • Day shift position with 3x12-hour shifts scheduled from 7 : 00 am to 7 : 30 pm,
  • Patient care spans neonatal to geriatric populations,
  • Every other weekend required,
  • No call and no floating required,
  • Use of various respiratory care equipment, including ventilators, BIPAP, CPAP, and monitoring devices,
  • Epic charting system experience preferred,

Job Requirements

  • Current CA RRT license required if applicable,
  • BLS certification from AHA required,
  • Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience,
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent experience,
  • High school diploma or equivalent required,
  • Ability to perform technical procedures on complex life support systems,
  • Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing,
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay,
  • Returning travelers must have been gone for at least 1 year,
  • Copy of all certifications required at time of consideration,

    • Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy modalities, including ventilator management, oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, secretion management, diagnostic procedures, and airway management during codes,
  • Assess patient conditions and deliver therapy as per physician orders and protocols,
  • Document all therapy administered accurately in both medical and departmental records,
  • Maintain current knowledge of respiratory care equipment and pharmacology related to therapy,
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team,
  • Pick up and return discontinued therapy equipment as needed,
  • Attend mandatory in-service education, conferences, and staff meetings,
  • Only one holiday requested off will be approved,
  • Modules completed during orientation through e-learning; module hours may vary,
  • Locals are accepted at a local rate,
