A leading global private markets investment firm is seeking a sustainability and decarbonization professional to join its growing function. This role is positioned at the heart of the platform, operating across portfolio value creation and firm-wide decarbonization strategy. Unlike traditional sustainability roles, this position is highly operational and people-facing, centred on driving delivery across multiple workstreams, managing complex information flows, and acting as a trusted conduit between investors, portfolio companies, investment teams, and senior leadership. This will suit someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving problems through coordination and communication, and can turn technical decarbonization work into clear, compelling outputs for internal and external stakeholders.

Investor Engagement & Fundraising Support

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the decarbonization team and the firm’s Investor Relations function.
  • Lead all decarbonization-related investor communication across multiple funds.
  • Build high-quality materials for DDQs, RFPs, ongoing reporting cycles and ad-hoc investor requests.
  • Support fundraising processes with sustainability-aligned materials and performance narratives.
  • Coordinate information across teams, ensuring consistency of messaging and timely delivery.
  • Synthesise complex portfolio progress into clear, investor-ready outputs.

Portfolio Value Creation (Core Focus)

  • Support execution of decarbonization initiatives across portfolio companies, working closely with management teams.
  • Translate company-level progress into structured annual and quarterly performance plans.
  • Help drive delivery of value-creation projects, ensuring milestones are met and stakeholders remain aligned.
  • Work with deal teams to embed decarbonization thinking into underwriting, onboarding, and ongoing portfolio strategy.
  • Operate as a problem-solver who can move between strategic discussions and hands‑on coordination.

  • An individual comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and a “people‑first” working style.
  • Someone motivated by the mission but grounded in practical execution.

    • Candidate Profile

  • 6–9 years of experience across sustainability operations, decarbonization, investor relations, portfolio value creation, consulting, or private markets.
  • Strong exposure to carbon accounting frameworks or sustainability metrics (but not necessarily as a technical specialist).
  • Prior experience dealing with investors, DDQs, or cross‑functional corporate stakeholders.
  • Outstanding writing ability and exceptional verbal communication.
  • Strong project / process management skills.
  • Motivated by industrial decarbonization and the energy transition, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders confidently.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
