Summary:

Primary responsibility is the implementation of the section’s objectives, quality control, and communication to perform testing on clinical samples which aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Familiarity with concepts, theories, and procedures of a clinical microbiology laboratory including microorganisms, their habitats, and their significance in clinical specimens. The ability to prioritize demands and shift between tasks is essential to the position.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• Associates (AAS) Medical Laboratory Technology degree or related discipline required

• Must have valid NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician license reflected within the NYS Office of Professions prior to starting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Able to work safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Customer focused
