Experience with IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and central lines.

Familiarity with administering IV antibiotics and blood.

Description :

The position involves caring for skilled patients in a short-term rehabilitation setting.

There are 24 beds with private rooms.

The electronic medical record system used is Point Click Care.

RN to patient ratio is 1 nurse for every 12 patients.

CNA to patient ratio is also 1 for every 12 patients.

Common diagnoses include sepsis, femur fractures, NSTEMI, chronic kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and urinary tract infections.

Patients primarily receive IV antibiotics or therapy to gain strength for discharge back home.

Job duties include passing medications, wound care, foley catheter care, PEG tube feedings, ostomy care, and tracheostomy care.

The RN will manage IV medications, PICC lines, and mediports.

There are no telemetry monitors on this unit, and nurses do not read cardiac strips.

A charge nurse is always present in the facility.

Physician availability is ensured 24 / 7 for any urgent issues.

An interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social services, case management, dieticians, and pharmacists is on site.

There is no respiratory therapy on-site 24 / 7.

The pharmacy is available for medication dispensing.

Shifts are scheduled according to the needs of the facility with every other weekend required.

The dress code for nurses is navy blue scrubs.

There are no separate COVID units, and enhanced droplet precautions are in place.

N95 masks are used, and COVID vaccination is not mandated.
