Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Business Education the Manager of Career Education & Cooperative Learning provides leadership for cooperative learning initiatives while supporting career education programs across the Chaifetz School of Business. The Manager oversees co-op and internship-for-credit operations supervises Career Educators and a Graduate Assistant and strengthens curriculum-based learning at both the undergraduate and graduate levelsto ensure high-quality experiential opportunities for students. This role serves as the bridge between direct student services and long-term strategic planning balancing program management and staff support with direct student engagement to deliver impactful career readiness outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Instruction (40%)
Teaches 2-3 sections of BIZ 3000 each spring and fall semester.
Leads Career Education in designing and implementing responsive curriculum and innovative teaching practices through the BIZ 3000 Career Foundations course
Leads Career Education in developing and teaching dynamic masters level graduate course MBA 6016 Professional Effectiveness focused on career enhancement targeted to meet the unique needs of the full-time intensive One Year MBA program Designs and executes experiential learning opportunities for MBA students by soliciting employer guests for panel discussionsindividual portfolio reviews annual MBA Speed Networking and Reception event and individual mock interviews
Cooperative Learning Oversight (15%)
Manage operations of cooperative learning program including program recruitment application processing evaluation and approval of co-op candidates co-op course enrollment and execution of two co-op symposiums each year (one per cohort).
Collaborate with faculty and program directors to integrate co-op and internship experiences into curricula.
Monitor compliance with accreditation standards (AACSB) and institutional policies for cooperative learning.
Track student participation outcomes and satisfaction; implement improvements based on assessment data.
Staff & Graduate Assistant Supervision (20%)
Supervise Career Educators and provide ongoing coaching mentorship and professional development.
Conduct performance feedback sessions and assist in annual goal-setting.
Supervise the Graduate Assistant delegating project work and ensuring professional growth opportunities.
Serve as the first point of escalation for student / employer concerns prior to Associate Dean involvement.
Employer & Community Engagement (15%)
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with employer partners to expand experiential learning opportunities .
Collaborate with the Associate Dean to align Career Education with long-term strategic priorities.
Program Support & Collaboration (10%)
Coordinate workshops events and classroom presentations related to career education and cooperative learning.
Partner with University Career Services Registrar and other offices to streamline co-op approval and enrollment.
Collect and report data on program outcomes to inform decision-making and support Chaifetz strategic plan goals.
Regularly engages with professional communities and organizations and conducts competitive research regarding similar programs to ensure Chaifetz students are offered innovative up-to-date programming and career education.
Provides critical data for business school rankings by collecting analyzing and reporting data relevant to career education efficacy and organizational excellence including First Destination Surveys for all Chaifetz School masters programs
Administering the Senior Experiential Learning survey to graduating undergraduate students to collect data for the CSB annual Experiential Education report
Reporting graduate student career-related outcomes to Chaifetz Schools accrediting body AACSB
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong supervisory and leadership skills; ability to support staff and manage operations effectively.
Demonstrated expertise in career education cooperative learning or employer relations.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students employers faculty and staff.
Proficiency in program assessment and data reporting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance student-facing and administrative responsibilities.
Knowledge of current pedagogical practices (including those applicable to distance-learning modalities) and ability to leverage learning management systems
Interest in developing innovative curricular content for college students
Qualifications
Masters degree required; supplemented with five (5) years of relevant experience.
