Physician Assistant / Family Practice / California / Locum Tenens / Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner: On-Site Firefighter Health Assessment

We are looking for a Physician Associate/Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This provider must reside and be licensed in California, and some travel is required (+/- 50%). Ideally, this provider will be experienced in Occupational Medicine, or a similar field such as Internal or Family Medicine. Texas licensure is a bonus.

On Duty Health is a growing occupational health provider conducting on-location health assessments for firefighters.

Qualified candidates will have experience in conducting the following:

Standard Comprehensive Exam

• History Taking (Medications, supplements, hormonal replacement, allergies, Medical and Surgical History, Family History, Social History (tobacco, alcohol, drugs, caffeine))
• Vision Testing
• Audiometry Testing
• Vitals (Temperature, manual BP, pulse, respiration)
• Labs and Chest X-Ray results interpretation and discussion
• Resting and Stress Test EKG Interpretation and discussion
• Interpret and discuss results from Exercise Physiologist and Sonographer
• Mental Health Questionnaire and oral assessment
• Assessment/Plan and Goals

Most appointments are located in the Southern California and Bay Area, but some travel within Texas may also be necessary. (Travel expenses provided)

Likely, you will see 9-12 clients a day with about 45 minutes for each.

Our ideal candidate will be someone with extensive medical knowledge, confident in conducting the above tests, and a team player who enjoys traveling and flexibility with a vibrant/warm personality. EXCELLENT bedside manner is key, which sets us apart as a company. Must be either a DOT Certified Medical Examiner, or willing to obtain this certification at our expense.

Pay: $60.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
