Sushi Chefs- Uchiko ($25-$35 per hour)

Uchiko Houston located on Post Oak Blvd in the Galleria Area is hiring Sushi Chefs! In this role, you will serve as vital member of our team to enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests. We offer gainful employment (Sushi Chefs earn an average of $25-$35 per hour (hourly base rate + tips) as well as great opportunities to grow with the organization long-term!

What you'll do in this role:

• Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine.
• Learn and perfect your sushi techniques under the guidance of our skilled Chef teams.
• Understand proper handling and waste reduction of product
• Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest
• Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grows
• Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu!

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
• Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory and perform restocking duties
• Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
• Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
