Education / Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (measure in standard and metrics using various measuring devices such as calipers, measuring tapes, micrometers, measuring tools) and basic computers skills are required.
This position requires up to 3 months' work experience to become proficient in most phases of the job to work independently.

Responsibilities :
Performance Ceramics & Refractories in Worcester, MA is currently hiring for a
Manufacturing Operator that will help support various areas within the facility, including but not limited to Hydraulic Molding, Casting, and Finishing.
Assignments & Essential Functions :
Hydraulic Molder (Machine Operator) : Applies a variety of methods, procedures and techniques to mold products using hydraulic presses or molding equipment to compact mix to shape product. Forming or molding basic shapes, (i.e. plates, batts, saggers, rings or bricks) utilizing shop orders and blueprints. Solid Cast I : Applies a variety of methods, procedures and techniques to cast large complex
molds and products using solid cast and other methods. They achieve this by assembling molds, pouring mix and staging molds to dry. Solid Caster is directly involved with both product and process development.
Finishing Operator I : Operation sets up and operates multiple machines or uses hand tools for repetitive and high production finishing operations to include grinding, cutting to dimensions, dressing, speed testing and small sandblasting. Product handled may be in forms ranging from initial shaping to final finishing.
Kiln Setter / Drawer II : Performs both setting preparations on racks, platforms, kiln cards and removal operations after firing.
A Setter / Drawer II plans and builds car configura tions and stacks products in specified patterns on racks, platforms, or tunnel kiln cars to prepare for loading into periodic or tunnel kilns, ovens and or furnaces for burning.

Manufacturing Operator Intake Questions
What specific products or components will the operator be working with Various, most likely our basic products, such as molding tiles using our silica carbide mixtures.
What equipment or machinery will they be required to operate Hydraulic presses, molds, finishing tools, measuring tools.
Are there any certifications or licenses required (e.g., forklift, OSHA, GMP) None required, will train / certify if needed.
What level of experience is needed / required (entry-level, 12 years, 3+ years, etc.) 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
Are there any physical requirements (lifting weight, standing duration, PPE usage) Being able to lift 50 pounds, stand for the duration of an 8 hour shift with breaks, be able to wear PPE such as eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
What shift and schedule is this role for (1st / 2nd / 3rd / rotating / weekend) 1st shift, Monday-Friday.
Is overtime expected or available Overtime is available, but fluctuates.
What PPE is required Eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and gloves. All will be provided Except steel-toed boots.
