Job Title : Drupal Software Engineer, Senior

Job Overview : The Drupal Software Engineer, Senior serves as a senior technical lead supporting the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) enterprise web platform. This role is responsible for the engineering, operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of DOT’s Drupal-based Content Management System (CMS) and any future CMS platforms adopted during the BPA period of performance.

This position requires a minimum of ten (10) years of overall professional software development experience, including at least eight (8) years of hands-on Drupal CMS platform engineering experience within controlled federal or similarly regulated environments. The role places a strong emphasis on security, accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG), automated testing, integrations, performance optimization, and reliable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Drupal Platform Engineering & Operations

• Perform ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) of the DOT Drupal CMS platform, including Drupal core and contributed module updates, patching, upgrades, and compatibility validation.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Drupal templates, content types, workflows, and reusable components aligned with DOT standards and governance.
• Monitor and implement Drupal community releases to ensure platform stability, security, and performance.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $150,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education / training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
