Oversee retail and consolidation operations of all wastes received including hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes and off-spec products, ensuring that customer orders are safely and accurately processed on time and according to all internal procedures and in compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements. Ensure effective communications with internal and external teams, departments, customers and vendors to achieve Operations' goals. Hire, train, develop, and manage performance of departmental staff to attain a cohesive, motivated team.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Include :
Maintain operational documentation to include reports, licenses, procedures, order requirements, etc.Supervise segregation, consolidation, and packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes, and off-spec materials for storage.Communicate with shipping / receiving when waste is ready for shipment.Supervise and communicate with other sites and corporate teams to coordinate work.Monitor order status from order receipt to settlement on each orderSupervise processing of received wastes, including communications with customer to provide updates and / or resolve issues or clarify requirements.Primary responsibility for creating and maintaining operational reports.Responsible for purchasing for the facilities including generating purchase orders, work orders, and review of invoicing for services provided.Support compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties and changes in operations.Affect positive change and continuous improvement.Oversee production including managing a team of technicians. Schedule and distribute work to team. Instruct, provide feedback, direct and assist team in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with regulatory requirements and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures.Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes and necessary paperwork. Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.Follow all Health & Safety / Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies, including incident reports and resolution.Supervise fork trucks and other heavy equipment to move all materials including hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes for storage / loading and off-loading.Maintain records for DOT and State officials as assigned.Performs published Contingency Plan Emergency Response procedures and acts as the Alternate Emergency Coordinator if appointed.Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED2+ years' experience with packaging, transporting and / or storing hazardous wasteExperience and knowledge regarding RCRA and DOT RegulationsWillingness and ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respiratorBachelor's Degree in Science or environmental field40-hour HAZWOPER course completionSupervisory or team leadership experienceBasic skills using Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePointHighly developed verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift)Training :
Required training may include, but not limited to, the Clean Earth training program designed to ensure that facility personnel are able to respond effectively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems, including, where applicable :
