POSITION SUMMARY : Join a dedicated team as a Clinical Nurse Educator in Inpatient Behavioral Health, where you will play a crucial role in providing clinical expertise, education, consultation, and leadership to enhance patient care and support staff development. This position comes with a fantastic BONUS ELIGIBLE incentive of $8000 .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide high-quality, competent direct patient care in your area of expertise.
- Assess and improve the quality of care for specific patient populations.
- Coordinate and implement comprehensive orientation and continuing education programs for Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) nursing staff.
- Collaborate with nurse managers and medical providers to develop annual competencies and monitor staff progress.
- Utilize advanced expertise to identify and intervene in issues affecting patient care.
- Support clinical team efforts, acting as a resource and positive role model for nursing staff.
- Engage in research initiatives to enhance clinical practice and patient care delivery.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :
Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Registered Nurse license in Connecticut.Hold a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN); a Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required upon hire.EXPERIENCE :
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in nursing practice and education is required.Three years of experience specifically in Behavioral Health is essential.This role demands effective communication in English and basic computer skills.
