Purpose
Provide leadership and oversight of first-year student initiatives in the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) within the College of Liberal Arts to support student leadership, success, and retention. Develop, plan, and implement student development programming, and mentorship and research initiatives for first-year students in OSE, including Foundation Scholars. This position will report to the Director of Student Engagement and Strategic Initiatives in Liberal Arts Student Affairs.
Job Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of professional experience in student advising/support programming or Master’s Degree and 3 years of professional experience in student advising/support programming. Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating student development programs. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work well as part of a team and independently; demonstrated collaboration skills with many different units. The ideal candidate should be innovative, show initiative, demonstrate skills for anticipating changing priorities, and respond effectively to feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
More than the required experience/qualifications. Experience with and strong working knowledge of Liberal Arts advising practices, policies, and tools. Experience with first-year students, UT Orientation, and mentorship programs.
Salary Range
$54,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Austin-area base is required.
