Description of Job
This is a full-time, in-person, essential position that is required to respond in person to call backs after hours to perform essential and / or emergency services of the agency in a timely manner. Shift work may be required and this position is eligible for shift differential. This unit exists to perform Housekeeping and Custodial services to assure that the facilities and client environments are cleaned and maintained according to all applicable regulatory standards, and provides a safe sanitary environment for clients and staff. Meet the facilities needs of the Department of Human Services Northern Region customers while managing available resources to provide a physical environment at the highest quality possible. Additionally, the unit establishes and maintains a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment for clients, personnel and visitors in the buildings of the Department of Human Services.
The position is unique in that it provides Custodial Services for a wide range of agencies within the Department of Human Services which includes the Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan (CMHHFL), Department of Human Services (DHS) (1575 Sherman St.), Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC to include the group homes) and Division of Youth Services (DYS) facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus and Platte Valley.) The position is required to meet and maintain all regulatory requirements set by JCAHO. (Joint Commission for Accrediting Health Organizations) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and other regulatory agencies.

Essential Positions
Positions that perform essential law enforcement, highway maintenance, and other support services directly necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of patients, residents, and inmates of state institutions or state facilities. Employees in essential positions can be only FLSA non-exempt and can be required to work unexpected or unusual work hours to perform the essential and / or emergency services of the department without delay and / or without interruption.
Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work before the start or after the end of a scheduled shift. If there is no release from work between the call back hours and regular shift, it is considered a continuation of the shift and call back does not apply. When call back applies, a minimum of two (2) hours of the employee's regular base pay is guaranteed. Eligible employees are those who are eligible for overtime, and any call back time is counted as work time.
