• Position Description :

The Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Operations :

• Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and construction workers.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Equipment and Maintenance :

• Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of construction equipment.
• Monitor and manage equipment inventory and usage.

Quality Control :

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications.
• Address any issues promptly to maintain project integrity.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on project status and performance.

Safety and Compliance :

• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Requirements / Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction management or a similar role
• Must have experience in structural, mechanical, dirt work, and pipework (Underground Utilities)
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Overview

We seek an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of construction processes, and the ability to effectively communicate with others.

• Duties
• Manage daily operations on the construction site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and laborers, ensuring work is performed according to specifications.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using construction management software, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
• Oversee budgeting processes, including tracking expenses and managing costs to remain within project budgets.
• Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and contracts to ensure accurate execution of project plans.
• Utilize tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical work verification as needed on-site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project status and issues.
• Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction management software such as Prolog and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management in construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and contracts accurately.
• Excellent project scheduling skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to manage teams effectively.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
