Central Supply Clerk

We are hiring a Central Supply and Medical Records Clerk to join our dynamic care team at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster!

6a-2p schedule. Weekly pay ranging from $24 to $27 an hour.

In this role, you order the nursing / medical supplies in accordance with the facility budget and residents' needs as well as maintain an organized nursing filing of records and policies.

Education & Experience :

High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.

Minimum one (1) year experience in clerical.

On-the-job training provided in scheduling and medical terminology.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Collaborate with staff on the purchasing of needed supplies.

Seek to meet all staff and resident supply needs within the budget.

Stock supplies.

Compare bills against packing slips to make sure that charges are correct.

Maintain regulatory required logs and records.

Coordinate and manage accurate and complete active and discharge medical records on file.

Ensure all requests for medical records are reviewed by the Director of Nurses and / or Administrator.

Complete discharge medical records timely and accurately, as well as ensuring the physician has signed in all appropriate sections.

Other duties assigned by the managerial team.

Specific Requirements :

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, basic computer skills and mathematical ability.

Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

Be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Is proficient in composition of written communication.
