We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and other Japanese dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by conducting regular inventory checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Utilize proper knife skills for cutting fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi creations or seasonal offerings.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools, particularly knives for sushi preparation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Culinary degree or certification in relevant fields is a plus but not mandatory.
