Position : Medical Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and self-motivated Medical Assistant to join our Rheumatology practice. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, takes initiative, and is committed to providing high-quality patient care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support both patients and providers efficiently. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document accurate medical histories
  • Assist providers with rheumatology examinations and in-office procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure proper infection control
  • Administer injections and medications as directed (per scope of practice)
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen handling, as applicable
  • Coordinate referrals, imaging, and lab orders
  • Manage prior authorizations, medication refills, and patient follow-ups
  • Provide patient education regarding treatments, medications, and care plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Identify workflow issues and proactively assist in resolving them
  • Support front office and clinical team as needed to ensure smooth daily operations

    • Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a specialty practice
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus
