Mechanical Project Engineer

Our Pittsburgh, PA based manufacturing client is expanding and looking to add a mechanical design engineer to their team. The candidate will be responsible for mechanical design and drafting for customer specific capital equipment orders as well as creating BOM's.

Key Job Requirements:

• Capital Equipment/Machine Design/Drafting in SolidWorks and working with their legacy package Pro E Wildfire.
• Tooling/Fixture Design - Estimates and Designs tooling for various EH technologies.
• Create and maintain accurate change logs and issue logs during machine build process. Follow company ECN process to correct design issues.
• Support electrical and hydraulic schematic drafting in AutoCAD.
• Support capital equipment machine start-up and debug/trouble shooting during all phases of the build.
• Support purchasing by communicating with vendors to ensure designs are manufactured efficiently as possible. Candidate will also support purchasing with technical details as necessary.
• Communicates with Project Management to ensure all customer expectations are considered in design phase.
• Maintains accurate records of tooling designs.
• Work with global team members to support the design and fabrication of machines built at their sites.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of two (2) years in 2D and 3D modeling/drafting experience with SolidWorks
• Hands-on experience designing machines and assembling fixtures preferred
• Proficient Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
• Good written & oral communication skills
• Excellent organization skills / ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of SAP a plus
• Knowledge of various fabrication processes (i.e., machining, sheet metal, welding, etc.
