All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested and shipped from Lucix facilities in California. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, passionate individual to develop new space hardware for communication satellites.
We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our Mechanical Engineering team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- In this position, you will own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical / RF design concept to production & unit delivery
- Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments
- Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution3-5 years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and / or manufacturingExperience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SolidWorksSolid knowledge of GD&TSelf-motivated with strong interpersonal skillsPreferred Skills and Experience :
Master's of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics / microwave packaging for space applicationsKnowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturingPrevious ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and productionRapid prototyping & design iterationWorking closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assembliesWorking on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
