Position Summary
The Junior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Assistant Controller with a range of accounting and administrative tasks, helping to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical accounting skills, work closely with the Assistant Controller, and gain exposure to different areas of the business. This position will help ensure the accuracy of financial records, support month-end and year-end close processes, and contribute to efficiency in a small-business environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities :
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
- May provide guidance to others on financial projects or reporting tasks.
- Supports senior finance leadership in preparing presentations and consolidated financial reports for executive review.
General Responsibilities
Support the Assistant Controller with daily accounting operationsInput journal entries and monitor general ledger accountsSupport month-end and year-end closings, preparing schedules and reconciliations as neededAssist with variance analysisAssist with margin analysisMaintain and organize accounting records for audits and internal reportingSupport Accounts Payable / Receivable with backup support when neededCollaborate with other departments to ensure financial data aligns with production and fulfillment activitiesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiencyProvide administrative and analytical support to the Assistant Controller and leadership team as neededPerform other duties and projects assignedAssist in the preparation of Ad Hoc reports as assignedReporting & Insights
Assist in preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports.Collaborate with accounting to validate data integrity and ensure consistency across reporting systems.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and forecastsTimeliness of the month end close_______________________________________
Qualifications
Minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized business environment (internship or work-study experience a plus)Basic understanding of accounting principles and standard accounting practicesProficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with utilizing account software and ERP systemsStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and learn quicklyPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learnExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyStrong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across departmentsTGI Direct will provide :
