What Makes This Role Special
If you are well versed in mechanical and electrical diagnostics, experienced with engines and transmission repairs, and skilled in handling all ancillary functions such as evacuation & recharging A / C systems, ABS brake bleeds, relearn protocols and tire mounting, Orlando Longwood is the place you've been looking for to take your next career step.
This isn't your standard repair shop position – you'll be an essential part of a team that ensures hundreds of vehicles are auction-ready in our dynamic environment.
Your Day-to-Day Adventures
- Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical / electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems using the latest diagnostic tools
- Prepare detailed condition reports on vehicles to be auctioned
- Provide thorough post-sale inspections to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform necessary mechanical repairs on arbitrated vehicles with attention to detail
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for repair work
- Maintain comprehensive records on work completed and outstanding issues
- Support Lot Crews to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain shop, equipment and tools in excellent condition
What We're Looking For (The Must-Haves)
High school diploma or equivalent2+ years of automotive mechanic experience (this is the big one!) and some experience with vehicle diagnosticsASE & OEM certifications (not required, but we'd be impressed!)Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to pass our background check and drug screeningAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditionsUnderstanding of basic automotive systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical)Ability to quickly identify common vehicle issuesComfortable using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipmentValid unrestricted driver's license and ability to drive manual and automatic transmissionsBasic computer skills for recording vehicle conditions and repairsAbility to coordinate with auction staff, drivers, and managementComfort working on various makes, models, and vehicle typesThe Good Stuff (AKA Your Compensation & Perks!)
