Location : We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, The Denver Performing Arts Complex, and Prelude and Post.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is an organization in Denver, Colorado which provides a showcase for live theatre, a nurturing ground for new plays, a preferred stop on the Broadway touring circuit, acting classes for the community and rental facilities. It was founded in 1972.

The Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States, spanning four blocks in downtown Denver. Home to multiple resident companies including the Colorado Symphony, Opera Colorado, and Colorado Ballet, DPAC features ten performance spaces that host a diverse range of live entertainment-from symphonies and operas to dance and contemporary performances. It is a cultural hub for the city, offering a dynamic calendar of programming year-round and welcoming both local and international talent.

Prelude + Post is a sophisticated, chef-driven restaurant and bar located within the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Designed to elevate the pre- and post-show experience, it offers seasonal menus, craft cocktails, and an elegant yet approachable atmosphere for theatergoers and downtown diners alike. With a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creative culinary execution, Prelude + Post complements the vibrant arts scene with a refined food and beverage experience.

Job Overview : The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and financial reporting of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial management. This role plays a key part in maintaining internal controls, managing accounts payable / receivable, overseeing month-end close processes, and supporting financial compliance within a fast-paced food and beverage environment. The Accounting Manager will partner with the operations team and other department heads to ensure the financial performance of the unit and that Sodexo Live! standards for accuracy, efficiency and quality are upheld.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal standards.
• Ensure accuracy in general ledger maintenance and financial records.
• Oversee the AP / AR process to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and customer collections.
• Reconcile vendor statements and manage dispute resolution.
• Support inventory accounting and reconciliation in collaboration with operations and supply chain teams.
• Monitor and analyze cost variances (e.g., food cost, labor cost, overhead).
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and industry standards.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for business planning.
• Analyze variances and provide actionable recommendations to management.
