Responsible for ongoing professional development - maintains appropriate licensure / certification and continuing education credentials, participates in available learning opportunities. Thorough knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting, and other general finance and business principles; understands organizational policies related to position responsibilities. Ability to interpret and apply corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory. Ability to serve as a catalyst in driving initiatives forward critical to achieving strategic objectives. Proficient / knowledgeable in accounting and finance terminology. Ability to oversee monthly financial close including writing and posting journal entries, maintenance of account analysis schedules and account reconciliation. Ability to perform mathematical calculations, often with a moderate to high level of complexity, during the course of performing basic job duties. Proficient in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, accounting systems, email, e-learning, intranet, Microsoft Word and Excel, and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required while performing the essential functions of the job. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette. Ability to speak before groups of people. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; courteous and friendly demeanor. Ability to work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations including IHA staff, providers, vendors, external customers and others as necessary. Ability to cross-train in other areas of Finance in order to achieve smooth flow of all operations. Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities and time constraints. Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills, specifically as it relates to resolving issues regarding physician compensation calculations. Ability to handle payroll, accounting and organizational information in a confidential manner. Successful completion of IHA competency-based program within introductory and training period. Ability to travel to other office / practice sites and meeting and training locations. Physical activity that often requires keyboarding and phone work. Physical activity that often requires extensive time working on a computer and sitting. Physical activity that sometimes requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling and / or twisting. Physical activity that sometimes requires lifting, pushing and / or pulling over 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust and focus. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face for long periods of time in English.
We're looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst , depending on experience.
POSITION DESCRIPTION :
Develops, interprets and implements complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques to support financial planning and control; Provides financial business development, analytical services and recommendations that influence sound business decisions, enable delivery of business objectives and guide long-term business planning choices within assigned IHA sites, divisions or at the organizational level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Interfaces primarily with any combination of the following : Finance team, Business Services, Practice Managers, Divisional Directors, Physicians, and Executive Leadership, acting as a strategic partner in defining and supporting strategy formulation and execution.
- Provides finance and accounting expertise through effective financial planning, analysis and measurement versus objectives, along with providing insight into accounting processes and expertise with compliance matters.
- Utilizes technical expertise in data mining and extraction using a variety of software tools; performs complex analysis of information obtained.
- Prepares and monitors complex budgets and financial reports, performing complex project research and analysis; conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action.
- Provides interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory or customer financial regulations as needed to support financial business development.
- Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
- Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records and financial statements; identifies trends, provides recommendations for areas of opportunity; identifies successful strategies.
- Prepares studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections and business forecasts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's Degree is preferred
CREDENTIALS / LICENSURE : CPA is preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : Three (3) years' financial analysis experience; experience in a health care organization is preferred
