Operating Room Attendant

Maimonides is currently seeking an Operating Room Attendant to assist nursing personnel in the care of surgical patients and assist with the preservation of an aseptic environment.

Responsibilities :

• Transport pre- and post-operative patients to / from the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
• Prepare and assist with the transfer of patients to / from the Operating Room Table / Stretcher, and assist with the positioning of patients for the surgical procedure / introduction of spinal anesthesia.
• Assist Operating Room Nursing Staff with post-mortem care.
• Hold extremities during the preparation / draping process of the surgical procedure.
• Prepare the identified surgical site and the appropriate surrounding area.
• Bring equipment to / from the storage area to / from rooms as requested.
• Handle instrument tray delivery / returns and take specimens to the Laboratory and Blood Bank, in the absence of primary personnel (observing infection control protocol).
• Clean Operating Room Suite between cases, dispose of trash / laundry in appropriate hold containers.
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Qualifications :

Pay Range : USD $26.88 - USD $27.41 / Hr.
