We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Restaurant Manager / Bar Manager to lead with excellence and inspire the team in both service and beverage execution.
Job Summary
The Restaurant / Bar Manager is a dynamic leader who will oversee nightly operations, manage the front-of-house team, maintain service excellence, and ensure smooth execution of both restaurant and bar programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a high-volume upscale setting, and knows how to create an unforgettable guest experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Operations
- Lead daily FOH operations with an eye for detail, service flow, and hospitality standards
- Ensure smooth coordination between service and kitchen teams
- Uphold One40’s service philosophy and culture across every guest touchpoint
- Monitor floor coverage, shift pacing, table turns, and guest recovery when needed
Bar Management
Oversee bar team scheduling, training, and performanceMaintain proper inventory and ordering of spirits, wines, beers, and bar suppliesCollaborate with management & ownership on cocktail menu executionEnsure all bar operations meet health, cleanliness, and compliance standardsTeam Leadership
Train, coach, and mentor servers, bartenders, runners, and hostsLead pre-shift meetings and regular service trainingFoster a positive, professional, and accountable team cultureAssist in recruitment and onboarding of new FOH and bar staffAdministrative
Handle POS programming, scheduling, and tip reportingMonitor labor and beverage cost control, report variancesCollaborate with GM and ownership on service standards, staffing levels, and performance metricsSupport event execution and private dining as neededRequirements
3–5 years experience in a similar role within an upscale, high-volume restaurant or rooftop barStrong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wine service, and food pairingsProven ability to lead teams with clarity, empathy, and disciplineExperience with scheduling, inventory, and ordering systems (Toast, Bevager, etc.)Must be NYC DOH certified (Food Protection)Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skillsAbility to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as requiredWhat We Offer
