Inpatient Coding Specialist

A company is looking for a Sr Inpatient Coding Specialist (Full Time) Days.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze medical documentation for accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures

Assign codes according to the Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines

Ensure compliance with coding classification systems in an acute care or professional services setting

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

High school diploma required

Prior coding experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS / CPT coding

Certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC to be obtained within 6 months of employment

Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT / HCPCS coding systems

Preferred education includes an A.S. or B.S. in Health Information Technology or Management
