Description :

  • Shift : Mids (12 : 00 - 22 : 30)
  • Guaranteed Hours : 40
  • Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing and hold CRCST or CSPDT certification.
  • Shift assignments will rotate between decontam, prep & assembly, steam and low temperature sterilization duties.
  • May also participate in assembly of case carts.
  • The work schedule will either be rotating ten hour shifts with every other weekend or a set shift Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat based on unit needs and candidate availability

Responsibilities :

  • Inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality, determine need for repair / replacement, validates completeness of set, and facilitates effective sterilization.
  • Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
  • Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets and / or instrument tracking systems.
  • Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.

    • Unit Description :

  • The sterile processing department provides processing of instrumentation for the OR, L&D and acute care departments.
  • The OR averages 60 cases daily during the week and L&D averages 20-25 deliveries per day.
  • The department staffs three shifts 7 days per week with a combination of 8- and 10-hour shifts.
