Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Technical Director and the respiratory therapist, the Cardiopulmonary Assistant assists with cleaning and reassembly of various pulmonary and cardiac related equipment. Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies in the respiratory department to pre-established par levels. Responsible for reviewing billing and make corrections as appropriate and daily electronically posting of charges to billing department. Performs all clerical related activities including but not limited to scheduling out-patient appointments and answering telephone calls. Perform EKGs, Holter monitor placement and data management, assist physicians with Treadmill Stress Testing .

Responsibilities

• Follows departmental procedures for completing exams, including correct positioning, equipment utilization, and image retention.
• Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with all customers.
• Applies radiation protection skills.
• Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of comprehensive quality care to all patients.
• Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and TJC regulations related to the Department, and as appropriate, the hospital.
• Consistently performs duties independently with minimum supervision.
• Operates equipment and safely performs job-related duties. Maintains a clean / safe work environment
• Adheres to all department procedure protocols.
• Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Assures that the proper examination is performed on the correct patient and understands the clinical reason the exam is being performed.
• Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate.
• Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered.
• Consistently performing in a manner that enhances customer service and approaches work with the attitude that quality can always be improved.
• Must demonstrate and maintain competency in all aspects of duties, including in the designated specialty.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested professionally.

Required Skills / Abilities

A Radiologic Technologist II is for an employee who has his / her ARRT credential in radiograph with 5 years experience, Radiology Technologist certificate / permit from CDPH, California venipuncture certification, and Fluoroscopy certificate / permit from CDPH. The radiologic technologist must demonstrate and maintain competency in all areas.

Education & Experience

Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiologic technology, Associates of Science.

Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved school. Bachelor of Science in Radiography.

Job Type : Temporary, Full-time, Variable Shift

Pay : $65.00 to $72.00 hourly
