Position description
Goodarzi Lab - Junior / Assistant Specialist - Computational
Biochemistry and Biophysics
School of Medicine, UC San Francisco
The Goodarzi Lab at UCSF's Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is an interdisciplinary research group focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis. We take advantage of state-of-the-art computational and experimental techniques to advance our knowledge of the post-transcriptional regulatory pathways that drive cancer progression. We seek to hire a Junior or Assistant Specialist to assist our group in building computational pipelines and implementing data analytical models. Responsibilities include performing standard genomic and transcriptomic analyses, building customized model for functional genomic platforms, and implementing and routinely documenting accessible pipelines for the community. Through this work, we expect that our Junior or Assistant Specialist will play an integral role in advancing our knowledge of cancer biology and genomics. We are seeking at least a two-year commitment. Depending on performance and workload, opportunities for independent research may be available.
