Advanced Vice President / Principal - Boston

Join Soul Equity Solutions as an Advanced Vice President / Principal at a $4 billion global private equity platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and lead an entire investment vertical within a lean, entrepreneurial environment in Boston.

Build a proven US investment platform, work with significant deal momentum, and shape strategy from the ground up.

Flexible Capital Structure

  • Investing out of an Evergreen Fund with ability to redeploy capital from exits
  • Flexible hold periods - no artificial timeline pressure to exit investments
  • Concentrated portfolio approach (4‑6 platforms total) = significant ownership of each deal

    • Active Deal Flow

  • Firm has signed LOIs and active transactions in execution
  • Strong momentum and growing pipeline
  • You’ll be closing deals, not just building infrastructure
  • Easy access to strong deal flow across Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic
  • Office in downtown Boston

    • The Role

    As an Advanced Vice President or Principal, you will build and lead your vertical, manage end‑to‑end deal execution, drive value creation, and mentor junior professionals.

    Build Your Vertical

  • Develop and own the investment strategy for your sector of expertise
  • Establish yourself as the firm's sector expert and thought leader
  • Build relationships with intermediaries, management teams, and industry executives to drive proprietary deal flow
  • Bring your existing network of banker relationships, CEO contacts, and conference presence to accelerate deal origination
  • Have the support of a junior deal team executive

    • Lead Deals End‑to‑End

  • Source, evaluate, structure, and close control‑oriented LBO investments
  • Target : Founder‑owned businesses with $10‑30M EBITDA
  • Equity checks : $50‑150M per platform
  • Lead IC presentations and drive investment decision‑making
  • Negotiate LOIs, manage diligence, and structure transactions with true debt structures

    • Drive Value Creation

  • Serve on portfolio company boards
  • Partner with management teams to execute growth initiatives and operational improvements
  • Lead add‑on acquisition strategies

    • Mentor and Build

  • Work with and develop junior investment professionals
  • Help shape the culture and investment approach of a growing platform

    • What We're Looking For

    Experience & Track Record

  • 10+ years of private equity experience with a focus on the lower middle market
  • Proven track record of closed platform investments – you've led or co‑led deals from sourcing through execution
  • Demonstrated ability to source proprietary deal flow and close founder‑owned, owner‑operated businesses

    • Sector Expertise – Strongly Preferred

    Priority Sectors :

  • Food Value Chain : Food processing, food distribution, ingredients, value‑added manufacturing
  • Industrials : Manufacturing, industrial services, equipment, distribution

    • Also Appealing

  • Business Services : B2B services, niche verticals with recurring revenue
  • Other sectors (excluding healthcare) – deep expertise in attractive middle‑market verticals

    • What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have relationships that generate deal flow – bankers, executives, intermediaries trust you and bring you opportunities
  • You know your sector cold – you know all the conferences, have developed investment themes and theses, you understand the competitive landscape
  • You can build a vertical from scratch – entrepreneurial, self‑directed, and don’t need a playbook
  • You're a closer – you’ve seen deals through from term sheet to closing, including board experience and transaction leadership
  • You're hungry to build something – you’d rather have impact and ownership than a big title at a mega‑fund

    • Skills

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation
  • Strong negotiation and deal structuring capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members
  • Experience with control‑oriented LBOs and working with true debt structures

    • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required
