Location : SF or NYC - Hybrid / Remote options. Will be TBD. This is a new role at a FinTech startup.
Position Overview
The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing the internal audit function of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the effectiveness of internal controls. The role involves assessing risk management processes, conducting audits, and providing recommendations for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with established audit methodologies and standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with regulations and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop audit plans based on identified risks.
- Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to management and the audit committee.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and track improvements in internal controls.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations that may impact the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA are required.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in internal audit or risk management.Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, GAAP, COSO, and COBIT frameworks.Experience with SOX compliance and control testing.Proficient in data analysis and using audit software tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management.Benefits
