Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for an outpatient clinic position with weekday daytime hours and no call or weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient oncology clinic setting
  • Patients seen : general oncology including solid tumors and anemias
  • Average daily census per provider is 12-16 patients
  • 20 exam rooms with 10 physicians and 4 APPs in the department
  • No floating required; position is only at the Concord location
  • Uses Epic EMR with messaging and Omnicell (infusion side)
  • Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM schedule
  • No weekend or on-call responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting general oncology care and assisting specialized physicians treating both benign and malignant cancers
  • Daily support provided by Charge RN and Clinical Supervisor
  • 1-3 week orientation including shadowing, based on experience
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Parking available in the visitor parking deck
  • No holiday coverage required
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit

    • Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of Oncology RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Clinic experience highly preferred; will consider strong acute care experience
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency in port access, peripheral blood draws, and general assessment / triage skills
