Job Description
1. Creates an environment of excellence through quality care and quality caring.
2. Champions nursing process and critical thinking skills in improving care delivery systems.
3. Drives patient centered care through the resident assessment instrument (RAI) process
4. Serves as Nursing Leadership preceptor for the Directors of Nursing Services and center clinical leadership teams.
5. Facilitates organizational structure through the use of consistent and standardized unit systems, clinical guidelines, approved products and forms.
6. Improves clinical inventory capabilities, admission process systems, timely response to change in condition and reduction of unexpected re-hospitalization
7. Tracks survey timelines, conducts comprehensive reviews, assists in organizing accurate survey information
8. Reads and interprets cover letters and enforcement remedies; assists in investigating survey findings
9. Promotes adherence to safe medication management guidelines and collaborates with pharmacy providers to ensure sound systems
10. Supports automated clinical systems and functions as a regional resource
11. Communicates clinical, regulatory performance / status and goals related to job to VP of Clinical / Quality Services.
12. Complete other duties and assignments as requested by the VP of Clinical / Quality Services.
Essential Functions :
Job Requirements :
1. Education : Licensed Registered Nurse with bachelor degree preferred
2. Experience : Three to five years in nursing management with at least two years in skilled care. Previous director of nursing services experience in long term care required
3.Physical Demands : Demonstrates the following : primarily Light in nature with exerting up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting / smelling, near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision and ability to move around all areas of a healthcare center, including patient rooms, the kitchen, basement, etc.
4. Travel : More than 90% of the time and must perform frequent and regular visits to assigned Health Care Centers throughout the region.
5. Working Conditions : Inside, must be able to access and view all areas of assigned Centers.
6. Principal Contacts : VP of Clinical / Quality Services, Senior VP of Clinical / Quality Services; VP of operations, Regional Directors of Operations, Directors of Nursing Services, Administrators, center nursing personnel and department heads; Medical Directors, attending physicians, and nurse practitioners; pharmacy and other contracted providers , other regional and intra company consultants; ombudsmen, state and federal surveyors,
7. Work Schedule : Available to work hours that allow for appropriate lines of communication with administrator, directors of nursing services and center staff; Must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes
