DHH Teacher | Clarksville, Tennessee

A full-time teaching position is available for a specialized educator serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a K-12 public school setting in the Clarksville, Tennessee area. This contract role supports students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, delivering tailored instructional services based on individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting curriculum and communication methods as appropriate.
• Conduct assessments and collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Utilize specialized techniques and technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and program effectiveness.
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and related service providers to coordinate supports and promote student success.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in best practices for DHH education.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong understanding of various communication modalities, including sign language and assistive technology.
• Ability to manage varied caseloads and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Location and Schedule:

• Position is located on-site in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System area near Nashville, TN.
• Full-time, 35 hours per week.
• Contract duration: January 5, 2026, through May 20, 2026.
