Residential Journeyman Electrician (Levels 1–5)

Department : Field Operations

Reports To : Field Supervisor / Master Electrician

Journeyman Level 1 – Entry Journeyman

Position Purpose

Entry-level licensed journeyman transitioning from apprenticeship to independent work.

Summary

Handles routine residential installations and repairs while strengthening NEC knowledge and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Standard Installations (40%) : Outlets, switches, lighting, simple circuits
• Troubleshooting (25%) : Basic diagnostics and repairs
• Compliance (20%) : NEC and local code adherence
• Team Support (15%) : Assist and mentor apprentices

Qualifications

Journeyman Level 2 – Skilled Journeyman

Position Purpose

Builds speed, accuracy, and problem-solving while taking on more complex work and minor project coordination.

Summary

Independently completes mid-level installations and begins leading small crews.

Focuses on advanced troubleshooting, efficient installations, and consistent field leadership.

Oversees moderate projects and mentors lower-level journeymen and apprentices.

Position Purpose

Highest journeyman tier—mastery of residential electrical systems with full leadership and project management responsibilities.

Leads multiple projects, manages field teams, and works directly with company leadership.
