Operating Engineer - Maintenance
As an Operating Engineer - Maintenance at JLL, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of critical building systems that support our clients' daily operations and safety requirements. This hands-on technical role involves maintaining, monitoring, and repairing mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire safety, and control systems to keep facilities operating at optimal performance levels. What your day-to-day will look like :
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to maintain facility standards
- Execute preventative maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment performance
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance coordination, and technical proficiency standards
- Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and correct recurring operational problems through quality control analysis
- Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper system operation while maintaining accurate maintenance documentation
- Evaluate vendors and suppliers regularly regarding quality and competitive pricing while verifying delivery accuracy for count, pricing, and descriptions
- Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
Required qualifications :
High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVACUniversal Technician certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to analyze various system operations, determine causes of problems / malfunctions, and implement corrective actionsValid driver's license and reliable transportation for facility assignmentsAvailability for call-in work and flexibility to perform additional duties as requiredPreferred qualifications :
Additional certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related building systemsExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systemsBackground in preventative maintenance program development and implementationKnowledge of hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal regulationsExperience working in healthcare, commercial, or institutional facility environmentsEstimated compensation for this position : 78,000.00 85,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
